Registered Psychotherapist, Marriage and Family Therapist
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Marriage and Family Therapist, systemic ideology is a thread woven throughout my worldview and work. My therapeutic philosophy also incorporates Narrative and Biopsychosocial approaches, in order to better understand each patient’s situation and establish an effective treatment plan.
After completing my Master’s Degree in Psychology and Family Therapy in Iran, I moved to the United-States to pursue my Doctorate at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. At the end of my program, I also accomplished an internship at the Indiana University-School of Medicine with the IU-Methodist Family Medicine Residency.
My teaching, supervision, and clinical practice in Iran, the United-States and Canada, have enabled diverse and meaningful moments of growth and provided me the opportunity to work with diverse populations ranging from students to veterans and priests who faced various challenges. In addition, my experience in Biopsychosocial Therapy and Behavioral Science has strengthened my ability with a wide range of people in need. More importantly, cultural diversity and working in a humanitarian context is an innate part of my experience.
I hope to have the pleasure to work with you and learn from each other in order to start your journey to wellbeing.
